About Me
My name is Avilia and I am a powerlifter who found passion for helping people of all ages become stronger and more confident versions of themselves. My goal is to show you what your body is capable of and how investing in strength will improve your longevity and the quality of life for you and those around you.
Whether you are a competitive athlete looking to break through training plateaus or someone just beginning to learn how to exercise, I am always ready to work with individuals who are committed to growth and ready to invest in themselves.
my story
I was introduced to lifting weights toward the end of high school in 2016 and quickly became determined to see how strong I could become. In 2017, I joined the powerlifting team at UC Santa Barbara and went on to compete in my first meet in 2018.
In college, I naturally gravitated toward helping friends learn how to squat and deadlift, and I quickly became known as someone who could explain lifts clearly and effectively. Each person I work with gave me the opportunity to expand my coaching “toolbox,” refining how I assess movement, adjust technique, and communicate more efficiently. My studies in biopsychology gave me a deeper understanding of how the body works, which strengthened my appreciation for proper form and function. I apply this knowledge to coaching, helping clients move safely and efficiently.
Over the last 8 years of powerlifting, being coached, and coaching others, I’ve developed a wide range of technical cues, creative analogies, and communication strategies to help clients move with intention and confidence. Coaching is a continual learning process, and the more people I work with, the more effective I become at supporting long-term progress. I understand the time, energy, determination and discipline it takes to pursue a goal, and I want to make sure every client I work with is moving in the right direction every step of the way.
coaching philosophy
My coaching and training philosophy as an athlete is the same: be technical, thorough, and tenacious. Building strength will come with time and consistency, but our potential can be significantly limited by poor form and technique. Being thorough and intentional with our training while prioritizing structural and functional integrity allows for sustainable progress and maximizes our long-term potential.
Ultimately, real progress comes down to an individual’s commitment and effort. Growth and change takes discipline and tenacity. If you are eager and ready to reach your health & fitness goals, I am all in. You set the goal and I am whole-heartedly on board to guide, support, and challenge you along the way.
coaching approach
My coaching approach is hands-on, individualized and rooted in intention. We start by assessing the most effective ways for your body to move, while addressing your strengths and weaknesses. From there, training is tailored to your needs and goals.
Each session focuses on proper set-up, efficient movement, and progressive strength development. I provide immediate feedback and personalized cues to ensure every rep serves a purpose. As strength builds, technique is continually refined so progress remains safe, effective, and sustainable.
Education is a core part of my approach. Understanding your training is essential for maximizing progress, trusting the process and building independence. You will learn what to do, why you’re doing it and how it aligns with your goals. Through clear communication, accountability, and consistent adjustments, I will guide you toward long-term progress and strength that carries over beyond the gym.

mission
My mission is to show people that strength is for everyone. It shapes how we move, how confident we feel in our bodies, and how long we get to stay active and independent. I help people build and maintain muscle not just to lift weights, but to move, play, explore, and live fully at every stage of life.
As we age, I want people to feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies, not limited by fear or fragility. Getting older should not mean giving up the things you love or accepting weakness as inevitable. Strength is something we can build, preserve, and rely on for a lifetime, and I’m passionate about helping people do exactly that.
Many of my clients tell me they feel younger than when they first started training, and I want more people to experience that. This kind of success is possible for anyone once they decide to begin. Choosing to start is a decision you won’t regret.
