meet Francis

his STORY

"I was training for about 7 years but got into powerlifting for 2 of those years before training with Avi. The main reason why I wanted Avi to be my coach is because I saw her as a very knowledgeable person in powerlifting. Also, I’ve seen her lift pretty damn heavy weight, especially in her weight class and that inspired me to ask her to be my very first coach.”

his takeaway

“I’ve gained an abundant amount of strength on all my compound lifts, especially my squat and bench. She keeps my accountable when I need to fix my form. She gives me great tips on tech work to help me improve my craft, and supported me throughout my powerlifting journey and also when I was injured. When I feel down or getting to the point I want to quit, she reminds me it’s only going to get better from here. That’s one of the highlights/important characteristics I believe a coach should have.

She is very knowledgeable in fitness (powerlifting, bodybuilding, etc.). You will learn a lot from her. She is also very understanding; if something doesn’t feel right or you don’t quite understand something she is there to help. You will see amazing progress if you stick with her for the long run.

notes from coach

"One of my favorite things about working with Francis is how he is honest with himself in his training and always puts his best foot forward. Francis does a great job at taking responsibility for this training. He knows that what he puts in his what he will get out. In the last three years, Francis has become a more mature athlete and his skills as a powerlifter extends beyond just getting stronger. While rehabbing from an injury for 6 months, Francis displayed a great amount of patience, discipline and tenacity. He understood the importance of rebuilding with the intent of becoming stronger, not just to get back to where he was prior to the injury. Francis’ ability to prioritize long-term health and strength in powerlifting makes him a great powerlifter and I am proud to be his coach!” - Avi
